12th & 13th June 2010 Blackheath International Kite Festival.

Highlights of this year's event are:

Magnificent kite ballets of aerial displays set to music, from world famous kite teams.

These teams include the father and son duo of Team Spectrum, Carl and Bryan. They perform wonderful dual-line kite duets to music, one notable routine flown with long rainbow tails in a beautiful and elegant display. Carl also flies as “three kites, one man” in an amazing display of skill. He is one of only three people in the United Kingdom to be able to do this

Another notable team attending are the husband and wife duo of Close Encounters. They perform inspired duets together as well as performing tutorial sessions within their routine, explaining the basics of dual line kite as well as some useful hints and tricks to make dual-line flying easier.

Also included will be a unique six man stunt team – The Air Heads, performing with expert air dynamic kites in an impressive display of precision ballet. They also bring along their group of Chinese dragon kites, filling the air with dragons as they fly the long, fragile kites en mass.

The ever entertaining four-line kite team - Flying Squad, will also be displaying their routines at Blackheath. Flying revolution kites in synchronized ballet, they embody another type of kite ballet, in contrast to the dual-line ballets.
